Executive Members and Peers
Incumbent Executive Committee
The executive committee of the MMS is the body involved in the day-to-day running of the Society. They are elected every year, usually at the Annual General Meeting in December, in accordance with the statute of the Society.
The current (2024) Executive Committee comprises:
- President: Maria Aquilina
- Secretary: Giorgio Grigolo
- Treasurer: Luke Collins
- Social Media and Marketing Officer: Jamie Garzia
- Events Officer: Alex Cordina
- Executive Member(s): Dimitar Petrov

Peers of the Society
Peers are those whom the Society wishes to honour by awarding a life-long, chiefly symbolic role in the hierarchy of the Society. The reasons for which any natural person might be made a Peer include:
- He* has made notable academic achievements in a mathematical discipline;
- He is held in high regard by the Society; or
- He has made meaningful or long-standing contributions to the Society.
Joseph Muscat
As of 2024 the only Peer of the Society is Prof. Joseph Muscat, who founded the original Malta Mathematical Society in 1999. He is currently the Head of the Mathematics Department at the University of Malta.
