Executive Members and Peers

Incumbent Executive Committee

The executive committee of the MMS is the body involved in the day-to-day running of the Society. They are elected every year, usually at the Annual General Meeting in December, in accordance with the statute of the Society.

The current (2024) Executive Committee comprises:

Peers of the Society

Peers are those whom the Society wishes to honour by awarding a life-long, chiefly symbolic role in the hierarchy of the Society. The reasons for which any natural person might be made a Peer include:

Joseph Muscat

As of 2024 the only Peer of the Society is Prof. Joseph Muscat, who founded the original Malta Mathematical Society in 1999. He is currently the Head of the Mathematics Department at the University of Malta.

1999 Executive Committee
